David and Goliath (OPEN)

(Starting off as Valentine/Jericho but is free game after that)

There was a slight chill in the air. No, no, it wasn't chilly. It was just, slightly uncomfortable. A bit too cold, but not cold enough for your largest jacket. But yes, definitely too cold for the average young kitten. Valentine, Bartholomäus's adolescent Siamese cat, had been exploring around the BLU base for a while. Bartholomäus had gone off somewhere, perhaps to the library, leaving her to her own devices. She played around a bit, but the inside got boring after a while, which prompted her venture into the outdoors. It hadn't started off cold, it had actually been quite warm and muggy. But, as the sun grew dimmer, and the moon grown brighter, Valentine found herself in a bit of a conundrum. She had adventured a bit too far out of the way, and found herself near the RED base instead of her blue home. The fact that it was RED didn't make much of a difference, for she knew not of teams. But, she knew she was quite a ways off from finding Fritz, and she was growing a wee bit cold. So she took the most obvious course of action, to first get out of the cold. Perhaps she could figure something else out once her wittle paws were warm enough. Val curiously eyed the massive, wooden red base. It was full of interesting smells and new sights. She noticed a small window on the side, next to a small tree. Seemed like an easy way in. Using her wonderous feline reflexes and tiny, sharp, gripping claws, she effortlessly leaped onto the trunk of the tree, ascended up into the branches, then jumped down into the window sill. The window was not open, yet it was not locked, nor was it closed properly either. A few bats of her paws, and the creaky thing slowly swung open. She pushed herself inside and leaped onto what felt like an old ratty couch. It smelled kind of weird, of new people, but also of unknown creatures and other things. But at least it was nice and cozy in here. In fact, it was very cozy. So cozy that, she laid herself down on the couch in a kitty loaf, and proceeded to close her eyes, hoping for a nap..

With the weather slowly but surely turning cooler, the partially-reptilian chimera known as Jericho had taken to hunkering down inside by the time the sun set, usually someplace out of the way where he could still keep an ear on the goings on around base and never too far from his Master. Unless his Master was blasting his music again...
This night found the big hybrid curled up on the ratty old couch, taking up over half of the cushions as he huddled up under the blanket he'd dragged down from his kennel. At the moment, he didn't know exactly where Connal had gotten off to, but he could still smell the Pyro and if he flicked his ear just right he could hear the man as well, so he didn't bother to worry to much about it, content to lie cozy and warm on the otherwise vacant couch.
An ear flicked up at hearing something creak, but he dismissed it after a moment, knowing how the old wooden base liked to make noise. But went something small and light jumped down onto his tail and started to make itself comfortable, he jerked up with a startled snort, turning to see what the heck had popped in to disturb his rest.
It took him a moment to focus, squinting a little before he could get a good enough look at the little thing. It was small, tiny even, all pale with dark points, and it seemed quite happy curled up in a warm ball on his tail.
He just stared for a bit, not sure what to make of it, though something niggled at the back of his mind, telling him that he should know what the little animal was, but he finally shoved it aside and shifted over to sniff at the creature, his ears flipped forward.

Although Valentine was quite a smart cat, she was still just a kitten, and would often not notice things right under her nose. It had always been one of her weak points as a feline. She was quite comfortable, curled up, almost asleep, when suddenly a large nose was sniffing her, startling her from her nap. She instantly leaped back a little bit, into the creature's tail. She stood defensively, the hairs all over her body standing up, making her into a large tan puff. Normally, she would have hissed at this disturbance, but Fritz had taught her never to hiss at humans. This thing didn't really smell like a human, but his face looked like one. So she instead was confused, and stayed quiet. He did not seem to be attacking her at this point, and her hairs settled down just a little bit. But he was still an unknown... Thing. And needed to be observed and sniffed thoroughly before she would become a bit less defensive.

Jericho lurched back when the little thing jerked away and puffed up, his ears flicking back before coming forward again. He didn't recognize it's scent, but it wasn't hurting him, so... Was it an ally?
Voicing a thoughtful hum, he lifted himself up a bit more so he could around better and huffed before leaning in to get a better sniff, keeping a little distance, just in case.
Finally, he gave a soft bark, reaching a hand over to cautiously poke at the creature, a brow quirking at the feel of soft fur.

This thing. It barked, so it should be a dog right? But it had hands too, and he did not look like a dog. Or anything else that Val had seen really. Did humans have different kinds too? Like dogs and cats?
Val was still a bit unsure. Yet he did not seem to be much of a threat so far. All he was doing was poking her, which did annoy Val a bit. So she just batted his hand away, hoping it'd get the message before she used her claws instead.

The hybrid cocked his head curiously at the soft 'pap' of the little creature's paws batting his fingers away, and he huffed before reaching over to grab the thing, sitting up and using both hands to pick up the small furry thing so he could actually look at it.
Small and furry and warm...
He smiled, lying back on the couch and bringing the critter down to cradle loosely in one arm.
Whatever this thing was, he liked it.
