*Sigh* yet another one, folks... sorBragreelek

I honestly wonder why they're even trying, then I remember it's going to be the obvious answer.

Unnnnng, I don't want to have to do Mod/Admin approval, but if this keeps up, I'm going to have to, and that's depressing.

Look, Gerhard, any new people won't mind, I'm sure. If you set it up so they have to be approved, I'll just do what i always do and check it compulsively every five minutes, and i'll deal with approving everyone who is actually a person, alright?

What about setting up a captcha or something? Or was that already talked about...?

The thing is, I already set it up with a captcha and an email verification.
The only thing I can do to up security any more is to make it admin/mod approval.
And I wish I knew how to update the platform thingy because these warning things I get every time I got into the Admininstrator Control Panel ARE PISSING ME THE F**K OFF. >8|

It's says the board software isn't up to date, and I don't know how to update it, and I bet if I could figure out how to update it, we wouldn't be having so many Spam problems. :/

Oooooh crap. To do that you'd have to contact the owner, whom I assume is Tom. Whom we've not been able to get in touch with.

I have the permissions to do it, I just don't know HOW.
The way they go about explaining the update process is written so roundabout and vague I swear a college freshman wrote it.

Here.
It looks super simple and all, but I have no idea what files it's referring to or what kind of fiddly gunk I'm supposed to be pasting or whatever.
The Administrator said she would take care of it when I informed her of the issue almost 6 weeks ago, but apparently, she has better things to do. 8|

I have good news, mein doktor! The bad news is that if you run a Mac, none of this will work. The good news, this isn't as complicated as the page makes it sound. I'm going to attach a file. It's an exe. run it and you'll download a program called WinRAR. Once that's done, click the link they gave you called "php.com downloads page", and download the file they instructed you to. For safety's sake, i will add that the file is called "Automatic Update Package".

When that's downloaded, find the file, right click it, and go to Open, which will bring up another set of options. from that set, click Open with WinRAR, or whatever the equivalent is. the end result being that it includes winRAR in the name. Once this is done, get on skype (around 7 P.M. your time) and I can guide you through the rest. In the event that any of this goes wrong or you get confused beyond all reason, Skype is once again the answer. From there I can guide you through it while watching, or I can even take over your mouse and do it for you XP

So, our friend scussypaids who had been deleted is back. Please don't ban or delete him yet, because i think he might actually be a new member, silly as the name may be. This is the first deleted account that's made a re-appearance, and that's way off from what we've come to expect from these guys. I've sent him a message, and if he doesn't respond within the week, we can consider it a spam-bot once more.

Not another spambot report, but...

I saw the Announcer sign in for a brief moment. Just like with Sykes, she's gone now, but at least it's an indication that she's alive. And if she is, we may end up being a bit more better off.

Yeah, I saw her too. Her status said she was messing with the administration control panel, so that might be something.

Gerhard, The announcer, and I are all talking about the spambot issue, which is why she logged on.

Ah. See, I'm not involved in most of the shiz Henry and/or Gerhard are up to, so I wouldn't know anything about why or how she's here beyond the fact that "she hasn't been on for awhile and her being here is an indication that she's alive" etc. etc.
