Sumpfgebiet! (Hans Intro, open!)

Where everyone arrives. Arrival is not team-separate, and we trust you'll be able to figure out which you're on. We send supplies plus purchases every month, on the first. The original dock was destroyed, and the current one is still only half-finished, so you're dropped off a bit of a ways up the bank where its safer to land. Just don't get lost.
The team Warehouses also stand out near here, or at least used to. RED's is the only one still standing, while BLUs seems to have been burned to the ground. Or maybe exploded. Or both.

The blue sky lay hidden beneath the heavy fog of the swamp, the air humid, a strong earthy, musky scent filling his nostrils as jackboots waded through the thick, deep mud. Such a location was so alien, so harsh and mysterious, and it felt like he could drop dead at any moment if he were to take one wrong step.

 It felt like home.

Of course, he found it a bit irritating when he walked off the train with luggage in hand to find a empty dock with a few abandoned supplies and no one to greet him. As he raised his head, he could just barely see the form of a large building through the misty fog, and a grin formed on his face as he went into the swamp. To be honest,  he didn't mind the walk, the terrain was perfect! A harsh, gritty wetland that could accurately test the capabilities of both men and women of every class! He couldn't help but laugh silently to himself  when the thought of a scout getting stuck in the mud entered his head. He was confident that this would be the easiest place he would be stationed at. Hopefully, it would be the last too.

Hans reminded himself why he was here, he only came for one man; Bosko, the only other survivor of his oldest troop. He couldn't help but feel a small pang of guilt for not having found the sniper sooner, but he knew everything would get better at knowing how friendly Bosko was. That sniper probably made everyone his friend by now, even the various creatures that inhabited this place.

As Hans walked along the water edge, mind stuck in a whirlwind of thought as he got within distance of the base, he was quickly knocked from his thoughts when he nearly tripped over a tree root, his monocle falling from his face and into the swamp water.

"Ach! Schtupid tree..." Hans grumbled as he set his suit case on a piece if shrubbery and began walking into the water to retrieve his monocle. He followed the piece of string that attached it too his belt before plucking out of the water with a frown. "Scheiße...."

Madison's favorite place to read was out on the docks. But the docks were gone now, so she had taken to climbing up to the roof from the second floor window or from the porch awning. It was nice, quiet, and afforded her a decent view of the area. So when she was reading a somewhat dry tome on prehistoric reptiles, she spotted the approaching figure from quite some distance away. A figure she didn't recognize. She squinted, and could make out a white doctor's coat. A medic? Whose team was he on? She remembered Henry or Gerhard or somebody mentioning that RED had a new medic (besides the one living in their infirmary), but she wasn't sure.

But when he came closer, she realized that he was wearing blue, not red. A new teammate? Really? Tucking her book on under her chin, she climbed down from the roof onto the awning, walking to the edge and looking out. Yep, he was a new teammate alright. When he got within shouting distance he tripped, dropping something into the water. He wasn't going to go after it, was he? Oh god damn it, he totally was. "Hey!" she shouted, waving her arms. "Hey mister! Get away from de water!"

So many failed attempts. So many disappointing swims back from the shoreline. No, this would not do. It would no longer be tolerated.

Especially now that this one had actually stepped into the shallows.

Two tons of muscle and teeth came hurdling at the Medic, the beast making a desperate lunge with its jaws open wide.

Aimé had been chain-smoking outside the base, hoping the semi-fresh air would help calm his nerves, he had been rather hard to find and he knew it wasn't a smart thing to do but he did his best thinking alone and hadn't wanted to be disturbed. But he knew it was only a temporary situation and soon he pulled himself from one of his various new-found hiding places and had stepped outside to find someone arriving, and only because he heard someone calling to someone near the dock.

He looked up immediately and before he had a chance to properly register the face of his old nemesis he saw a large splash of water as the creature that now lurked in the water lunged "Hans!" he shouted immediately taking off towards the dock, he hoped that whoever had called would be able to join him and quickly, even with Hans (Assuming he wasn't killed outright) two people weren't going to be enough to hold the creature off.

"Was?!"

Hans perked up at hearing a voice calling from the distance, causing him to drop the monocle once again into the shallow pool of water.

"Ach! Verdammt..." He grumbled and waved it off for the moment to instead direct his attention to the BLU's Heavy. He could barely make out her form without the assistance of his monocle, and he couldn't understand a word she was saying. He cupped a latex-clad hand around his mouth and yelled back to her.

"I cannicht heah you!" He yelled as loudly as he could, eyes squinted as he tried to make out the figure. But then, he stopped, ears picking up the sound of water splashing radically, and he quickly turned his head in the direction of the source, and his blue eyes widened considerably.

What was that? To Hans, he assumed it was normal; it was a swamp after all, one on RED and BLU property, and no doubt some horrifying experiment from the gallons of harmful chemicals or some crazed medic's experiment. Either way, he wasn't frightened in the least, and he didn't move from his spot in the water as he glared at the beast coming towards him.

"I don't haff time foah zhis!" He snapped irritably, abandoning his monocle as he ran at the monster at full force. He quickly ran low and underneath the thing as it lunged at him, focusing on grabbing the damned's things body.

"I said..." Madison began to say louder, before deciding against it. She would just have to get closer. As she made to climb down from the porch roof, she saw another approaching figure, another one she didn't recognize. But even from this distance she could tell that it was a RED. What the hell was going on here?

Before she could think about it any longer, the surface of the water broke and the beast emerged. Oh no. She would have to worry about that later. For now, she made a mad dash for her new teammate (which wasn't all that fast by anyone else's standards). Her heart just about stopped when it lunged for the man, jaws wide, and started up again once he nimbly dodged the attack.

Well that was good, now he could get out of the way... wait why was he going back towards it? Her mouth hung open. A brave gesture, but completely and utterly stupid. It was clear he had no idea what he was dealing with, but if she didn't do something, he was toast.

It was in that split second of reasoning she realized she was still holding the book she had been reading. So she did the first thing that came to he mind: she threw it. "Hey, over here!," she snarled, picking up rocks and pelting the monstrosity with them as quickly as she could throw them. "Fuck you, lizard!"

Aime had never been so conflicted in his life, on one hand he was relieved to see Hans making an attempt to fight off the monster, but on the other he wanted to throttle the life out of him for the exact same reason. However he paused mid-step when he saw something fly through the air, was... was that a book? Quickly picking up on the idea he bent down and began to pick up anything loose, stones, sticks, anything that could be thrown.

He still continued to make his way swiftly to the dock but now he had ammo and he threw it at the creature shouting at it, he didn't know the person who had thrown the book, not yet having met anyone on the BLU team but he was thankful that they seemed to have a decent head on their shoulders, which was more then what he could say about Hans sometimes.

{sorry to butt in, but it would be supremely out of character for Gerhard to not notice such a commotion}

He'd been busy tending to a few forgotten bits of paperwork when he heard the start of the yelling, muted through the thick walls of the Infirmary. A moment's pause, listening, and he shook his head, turning back to the paperwork at hand. Only to be jerked away from it once more when he heard a heavy THUD as something large hit the ground outside his window.
In a moment, he was up and across the room, peering out to see what in the world was going on.
And promptly had a heart attack upon seeing a monstrous tiger-striped creature lunging at a man in the BLU-tinted attire of a Medic while Madison and a sickly looking Spy hurled debris at the creature in an attempt to distract it.
"Rufus, I vill be right back-!"
Gerhard bolted for his battle gear, snatching his crossbow and a handful of bolts from the cupboard before launching himself out into the hall and making for the door as quickly as he could, the disguise of legs flickering out in a rush as his lower limbs worked overtime.
He had a bolt nocked by the time he made it to the door, and he had it aimed by the time he made it to Madison's side.
"DUCK, HERR MEDIC, NOW!"
The TentaMedic let fly, his bolt aimed for the monster's eye.

"Fuck you, Lizard!"

"Was zhe-"

The cry from the base caused Hans to lose his focus, his chance to grab ahold of the monster faltering as he turned his attention to the one's yelling and screaming at him. Before Hans could properly register what was happening, however, he was promptly hit in the face with a book. "Ach! Was zhe Hell?!" He snapped as he grabbed the piece of literature before it could fall in the water.

Again, though, he heard a loud German accent yell at him... He wasn't sure what though, but as he heard something getting closer, he quickly darted out of the way of the large monster in time before the bolt came through.

What the hell kind of welcome was this?!

The stones bouncing off its broad head were enough to distract it from its prey. Annoying, yes, harmful, no. It tilted its head towards the two intruders, its attention taken off the heroic/stupid Medic making a dash at its body.

It never saw the bolt until it was too late.

A distinctive piercing shriek filled the air, and the waters frothed as the behemouth made an attempt to back into deeper waters. It was gripped in its own primal terror now, filled with pain and half blind. Its paniced thrashing about left the hapless new Medic coated in a generous shower of spurting of high pressured blood. There was clearly only one option - retreat!

It slithered back to the depths of the swamp, leaving the waters tinted in its wake.

Madison hadn't realized the book had even hit anything until she heard the newcomer cry out. She paused her rock throwing just long enough to see the wayward piece of literature smack the hapless medic in the face. She winced. She thought her aim was better than that, but at least he caught it...

"Sorry! Wasn't aiming for you!" she quickly called out, resuming her previous activity. She had hefted a particularly large stone and was ready to hurl it at the monster's stupid face before yet another shout sounded out from behind her. She turned around long enough to see Gerhard let loose a bolt from his crossbow. She followed it as it arced overhead and found its mark somewhere in the dinosaur's head.

She tossed the now unecessary stone aside, rather pleased of the mess the monster was making as it fled. The more mess, the more hurt it was. She grinned at Gerhard. "Your aim's got better." It was then she remembered the newcomer. He had caught the receiving end of the lizard's mess, unfortunately for him. At least, she hoped so. "Hey mister, dat ain't your blood, right? It's de monster's? You okay?"

Oh. Well.
That worked.
Gerhard couldn't help a few moments of rather stunned blinking, brows arching towards his hairline as the monster retreated, screeching in pain and bleeding profusely. Yeah, he'd been practicing when he found the time but... WOW. Talk about a lucky shot!
He cleared his throat, composing himself before his teammates could see him gaping like an idiot fish, though a bit of color tinted his cheeks at Madison's compliment, just a faint blush of cobalt under his eyes...

Aime watched as the creature cried out in pain then retreated, his hands were still shaking as he sighed heavily with relief, however it was short lived as he suddenly hurried towards Hans "You imbecile! What were you zinking going over zat creature 'ead-on! I knew you were pig-'eaded but I didn't zink you were suicidally stupid!" he shouted at Hans. He had almost forgotten about the other two people who had assisted with disposing of the creature, albeit temporarily "Bosko would 'ave been devastated if somezing 'ad 'appened to you! Alzough I can't imagine why" he said irritably as he removed a cigarette from the case and promptly lit it to help calm his nerves. It had been terrifying to see how the creature had moved, how close it had been, that was what they were up against? He had faith in the team, but still... it was a nerve-wracking thought.

Hans watched as the poor monster fled back into the depths of the swamp, and he frowned lightly as it disappeared completely. What a shame; his first encounter with a swamp creature and it managed to get away. He was more upset with that than getting covered in the creature's blood.

He hoped he would get a second chance at taking down the abominable creature; by himself or with some teammates. Either way, he did find the whole thing a bit fun, though he could have done without the yelling and throwing of literature.

He leaned down in the water to retrieve his monocle, rubbing it clean with his free hand before he turned to  the Heavy. "Ah, ja, ja, " he replied, "I'm fine, if nicht a bit dissappointed." Hans offered the book back before trying to wipe his face with a handkerchief. "Zhat ist yoahs, isn't it? I-"

Before he could finish, he saw a familiar RED spy come towards them, as well as that BLU medic, and at that panicked exclamation he cocked a brow. "Was ist Los? It vas just some monstah, you act like it vas ein unstoppable killing machine."

"Ah, yeah, it is..." she said, a little embarrassed, taking the book. "Well, as long as you're okay, dat's what's important." She was about to ask his name and properly introduce herself, but was interrupted by the RED spy's outburst. Apparently they knew one another. If that wasn't odd enough, the new Medic's response was even more baffling.

She briefly looked at Gerhard, the spy, and back at the new medic before speaking again. "While I don't doubt your abilities, it kind of is an unstoppable killin' machine. We used t' have a dock here. It's gone now," she said, motioning around with a free hand. "It also bit our Engineer's leg off, if dat counts for anyt'in'."

"It vould have eaten mehr of him if ve hadn't been able to get him to safety. I should know, I had to perform zhe surgery zhat kept him from having to rely on zhe Respawn system."
Gerhard calmly collapsed his crossbow, slinging it over his shoulder on the attached strap. The TentaMedic held out his hand towards the taller blonde, not bothering with the disguise, since the man had likely already noticed.
"Gerhard Melsbach, Head Medic. Und du?"

Hans just stared at Aime. "Don't get too excited zeah, tunte."

He then looked to the other two, a bit stunned at what he heard. Wouldn't respawn just pick that up, or just use a median to bring it back? "Es tut mir leid, I didn't know." He replied, leaning down to shake Gerhard's hand with his own, a smile on his face.

"I am Hans Eisenherz! Dein new medic, ja?" He replied with a wide grin, shaking the tentacled medic's hand furiously. "You know, you really should try to get rid of zhat zing in zhe wassah..."

Madison couldn't help but giggle a bit at the new medic's last comment, his liberal use of German simply going over her head. He seemed nice, if not a little blunt. "We been trying' t' do just dat for quite some time now, but it ain't as easy as it sounds." she extended her own hand for Hans to shake. "I'm Madison Bealieu, but y' can jus' call me Maddy."
She looked over at the RED spy once again. He also seemed like a decent guy, and with a bit more sensibility than the new doctor. "So d'you two know each ot'er or somet'in'?" They were certainly acting like they did.

Gerhard calmly observed the interaction between his new and old teammates, frowning slightly at the remark about someone he hadn't noticed. In all the ruckus...
Oh, there he was.
The tentacled Medic lifted a hand to wave to the Spy, a brow quirked in curiosity. Funny, the man looked vaguely familiar.
