The Sign says Don't Feed the Animals (monster)

The swamp that is a fixture surrounding the battlefield. The swamp, like most, is quite full of trees, moss, and most notably leeches. There are some strange things that pop out of the waters; are you willing to brave into them?

The scream caused Enrico to wince. Boy, he wasn't expecting that. Once it stopped and got his bearings (and checked to make sure he could hear, losing that would give him a heart attack to accompany his eye problems), he saw the creature trying its best to roll out of there in a hurry. "Whoa buddy! I ain't done yet, ya want a thicker infection in the otha' eye?" He tried to call out.

The Kiwi got closer, having become comfortable around the beast to predict most of its moves... most of them. He reached out for that snout, avoiding touching the lacerations. "Calm down, I know it hurts like mad... Come back and I'll feed ya some more meat. You've been good so far." He tried to persuade.

Oh the Swamp Monster could use some nourishment... and it wasn't going to come from alligator meat, accidental or not.

No no no no no no no no goddamn it. This had been a horrible idea. No, you are not getting anywhere NEAR the other eye socket, so help me. You goddamn quack. DID YOU HAVE ANY HORSES THAT LIVED?

The monster's wails eventually subsided into a steady mechanical growl as it forced itself to calm down once more. Wait. Yes. Get closer.

Feigning compliance, the creature gave a soft moan and flopped on its side, the empty open socket facing upwards.

This Kiwi tastes like fruit... because he is one

Enrico let out a sigh. Finally. "Alright, I'll be careful on this one. This one ain't as bad as the other." He said. Going back to shore, the man grabs a fresh medkit, opening it up to pull out a few items. "No more pain, I promise. Just a quick patch up and yer good to go, as far as a blind dinosaur goes. Poor thing... Wish ya still could see out one eye at least. I know I'd be miserable being completely blind... Seeing black and white's better than seein' nothin' at all." He said as he returned to the monster's side.

Taking some anti-bacterial solution and cotton rag, Enrico dabbed the cuts and other eye. Sure it stung, but it was no where near as painful as having a arrow yanked out of your eye socket. "Just a bit more..." He adds, and starts to go around that snout.

If only he could see the hidden tree limb under the muddy and bloody water's surface, then Enrico wouldn't of tripped on top of the front of that snout and spill half the bottle on open wounds, stinging like hot mad instead of a small annoyance.

He wouldn't have time to apologize...

Well. That just about had done it. Its snout was on fire, and the alcohol soaked rag in its eye socket felt like a wash of liquid napalm. And the Sniper was right next to his jaws...

There was no warning, and the monster had gone silent. It was just one powerful snap, and the Sniper was suddenly suspended in the air, teeth lodged in his torso as he was trapped as neatly as a mouse in a trap. The former Spy held Enrico up like that for a few moments, letting blood trickle down into its gullet.

With surprising speed it turned back into the black waters. It had a special fate in store for the failure of a wannabe Medic that had caused it so much pain. Normally, it would have just torn the Sniper to bits and watched his blood cloud the waters, tissues scattering like bits of snow. But that simple pleasure had been taken away. It could hear the man's heart beating, feel the warm pulse of blood against its gore soaked gums. There was another tactile way to 'watch' the Sniper die horribly.

It released the hapless Enrico for a moment in the murky depths, only to slam him down against the muddy bottom of the swamp with incredible force. If his bones weren't broken yet, they were now. It shoved its nose against the Sniper's chest, feeling for the moron's heart. It was going to hold him here and wait for him to drown.

The poor Sniper was caught off guard.

Never had he felt such pain as a pair of vice grips with large sharp teeth. He screams out in pain, and gags as he felt blood bubble out of his mouth, a lung had been punctured. Struggling to get freed, Enrico tried to claw his way out, dragging his fingers over that scaly skin unable to dig through to flesh. He only cries out as the jaws clamped tighter before being dragged through the swamp.

Suddenly the pair dove into the black, deeper waters. The sniper's lungs burned, one filling with blood, the other helplessly trying to hold in air. For a small moment in time, he felt the jaws leave him and was about to flail to the surface. Only for that snout to pound through him like a javelin. The moment his back slammed against the muddy bottom and that snout cracking his ribs, Enrico had no means of preventing himself from screaming out underwater. His body sucked in water, bleeding out like a stuck hog.

His struggles grew weaker and weaker, till eventually his hand on the monster's nose instead of clawing.... ends in a soft pat. Then it drifted off to the side, the feeling of a heartbeat weakening to nothing...

The man forgave the beast for his actions, but he doubt it would do so for his.

Satisfied, the monster snatched the corpse up with its maw, knowing there was a limited amount of time before respawn would reclaim its prize.

It made for the surface at a frightening speed, its powerful tail pumping behind itself frantically.

The monster broke the surface of the swamp with a high leap, back curving in a graceful arch as the ruined remains of the Sniper started to fall to pieces in mid air. A brilliant, bloody warning to the humans of Swamp Rat, it anyone saw it. It fell back into the black waters with a massive splash that echoed through out the base.

For the next five minutes, the monster contented itself with shaking Enrico's body to and fro like a ragdoll. It couldn't see the mess it was making, but it got a fairly good idea as the Sniper's entrails bobbed about and snaked against its snout. Eventually it heard the man's spine break and the corpse became less fun to play about with.

It sped for the shore, and with a heave, it threw Enrico's broken body onto the muddy bank, hoping someone would find it before it disappeared.

Unfortunately, one person was watching.

Now, Adrian wasn't a very subtle man, and wasn't much for very subtle men himself, either. So when the Sniper had sneaked out with a bag of Gerhard's supplies, of course Adrian was going to wonder where he was going. It was probably for another hunting trip, but he wouldn't have need to sneak out medical supplies for that. The Demoman trailed Enrico to the clearing with the pool, where the entire scene played out before his eyes. Of course, Snipers didn't appreciate Spies as a norm, so Adrian stayed hidden, for better or worse.

Then the monster turned Enrico into a gory pinata.

Adrian, to put it bluntly, freaked the FUCK out. He screamed and recoiled 5 feet from his hiding point, failing in disgust and horror. Not even thinking to shoot the grenade launcher he had conveniently brought, the Demoman bolted back to base, yelling out almost all the way. By the time he was at the porch, he was panting and sweating like he'd seen an actually scary ghost.

"S-snipah guy's... friggin' DEAD! Monsta' tore 'im up! I saw it!"
